About a month or so ago Ben posted on his site about a new free image site that he’d found. I bookmarked it, figuring that I’d check it out for the next time I needed to look for images. Well, that time was last night. Normally, I go to Stock Xchng for my free images, so I thought it’d be a good idea to have an alternative source. Over to the ambitiously named everystockphoto.com I went. After the obligatory signing up and email confirmation, I started searching. The first search I did was for “ipod”. Most of the results on the first page were from Stock Xchng (further searches showed that they also pull from other free stock photo sites, such as imageafter), but looking further down I noticed that they’re also pulling from Flickr. In fact 99.6% of the images returned for that search were from Flickr, based on the keywords entered by Flickr users, which just goes to show the size of the resource that Yahoo has over there.
Will I use this site again? Since it gives results from the ‘professional’ sites before the Flickr results, I probably will give it a few more goes, although I did used to be a Dogpile user, and now I just go straight to Google, so maybe meta-search engines aren’t my thing…
